PACT REGARDING. TIENTSIN. > : ißritißh OScial'Wireless. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 19. Tho Foreign Under-Secretary, Sir. E. A. Butler, announcing the signature of an agreement between the Japanese and British Governments on certani local questions relating to the British Concession of Tientsin, stated that these questions included police arrangements for the suppression of terrorist acts and the more effective maintenance of law and order, the circulation of currency in the concession and the disposal and custody of silver reserves in Chinese banks in the concession. The arrangement covering the latter part had received the assent of the , Chinese Government. One-tenth of the silver would be used for. humanitarian purposes among the- famine-stricken population in Xorth China, while the balance would remain under seal in the hanks until; its disposal was later decided. *f -.; .■■■•i- ; . •;.;■•■."■
