OFFICER MISSING.

AIR FORCE OPERATIONS. WELL-KNOWN TARANAKI PILOT. Intimation that her son, Pilot-Officer Kenneth Noel Rea, is reported missing as the result of Royal Air Force operations, has been received by cable by Mrs. L. B. Rea, of Great South Road, Papatoetoe. Born at New Plymouth 28 years ago, Pilot-Officer Rea was educated at the Boys' High School, and he won an aviation scholarship while a member of the New Plymouth Aero Club. In July, 1937, he left New Zealand to take up a short service commission in the Royal Air Force, he being one of the first draft of 18 pilots to leave under the scheme. Eilot-Officer Rea has been on active service since early in September.
