EMPIRE AIR SERVICE.

NO PASSENGERS OR MAILS. The weekly air service between Australia and Egypt, linking up with a land aeroplane service between Africa and England, is to be maintained, according to a statement by the managing-director of Qantas Airways, Mr. Hudson Fysh. The statement w contained in a Press Association cable from Sydney. At present the Africa-England service would not carry eitheT passengers or public mails, said Mr.^Fysh. This statement is a sequel to an announcement last week that, ae the result of Italy's entry into the war, the Empire Air Service was being reorganised. Indications then were that it was not likely that there would be any disruption to the service between Auckland and Sydney, and that the Australia-Egypt air route would be maintained.
