The employees of the 'Bay of Islands Power Board have decided to make a voluntary contribution of 3d in the £1 each pay, day to the funds of the Joint Council of the St. John and Red Cross Society. Last week the amount collected by theee means was £5 3/. Employees of the sawmill of Messrs. G. L. Winger and Company contributed one whole day's wages eaeh to the Sick and Wounded Fund, the total coming to £18 10/3. It ie proposed that similar contributions will go toward some national effort regularly.
