FREE OF INTEREST.

Loans In Britain For War Effort. CHANCELLOR'S STATEMENT. British Official Wirelese. (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 18. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir Kingsley Wood, answering a question in the House of Commons, said that in view of the fact that many people were anxious to show their patriotism by making interest free loans to the country for the prosecution of tho war, he was asking any persoii or company willing to do so to send direct to the Treasury and receive a certiiicato entitling them to repayment three months after the peace treaty was signed. An alternative method for loans wider £100 would be more convenient if an interest free deposit was made in the post office savings bank, he said.
