ONLY QUARTER EVACUATED. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 18. The last batch of children have left London , under the County Council's scheme. It is estimated that only 105,000 have gone from the total child population of 450,000 in the Greater London area. GREATER EFFORT. INDUSTRY'S VITAL PART. . British Official Wiretese. RUGBY, June 18. The president of the Federation of British Industries, Lord Dudley Gordon, has sent a message of encouragement to all engaged in industry.
"At this grave crisis in our history," Lord Dudley says, "industry must still further increase the great effort now being made in order that we may resist all assaults and, by tenacity of purpose, retain the freedom handed down to us."
