MOTOR CYCLING.
ONE-DAY TRIAL. The one-day trial conducted last Sunday wer a short course at the back of 'the Otahuhu and Papatoetoe districts resulted I?/ \ popu ' ar win f °r K. Allport, riding a lyi ii.p. James. Allport lias been a keen competitor for the last 18 months and has gamed several seconds and thirds, but this is Jus first win. The weather being perfeet, the field of 22 competitors enjoyed one of the best runs of the year. The placings were:—K. Ailport (1% James), 1; S. Winterburn (500 Rudge), 2: E. Mahcr (500 Enfield), J. Phillips (350 Velocette), G. Mudgway (500 Triumph), V. Dixon (Triumph Twin), 4. The next club activity will be the Auckland Scramble Championship, to be held at Mangere on Sunday, July 7, provided sufficient entries are in by the monthly general meeting to be held on July 2.
