The working committee of the AllIndia Muslim League has authorised the League's president, Mahomed Ali Jinnah, to communicate with he Viceroy with a view to mobilising the country's resources for the intensification of the war effort, states a Bombay message-
It is reported from Beirut, Syria, that the Grand Mufti says: "A strong feeling of resentment prevails among.Moslems and Aralw at Italy's entry into the war. God will see that the cause of justice ie vietorio'ie over barbaric aggression."
The head of the Syrian Government has declared that the Arabs and Moslems are more, on the side of the Allies than ever, realising the dreadful consequencee to which they -will be exposed if the Allies lose.
500,000 RUPEES. Indian Princes' Gift To France. MESSAGE FROM VICEROY. British Official Wireless. (Received 11 a.m.) RUGBY, June 16. A message from the Viceroy of India, the Marquess of Linlithgow, to M. Lebrun, President of France, says: "With profound admiration for the glorious achievements of the armies of France, the Viceroy has the honour to donate from his war purposes fund, raised by public subscription from the Princes and people of India, sums totalling 500,000 rupees for the benefit of the French Army, in whatever manner your Excellency " may think fit."
