ITALIAN MINERS.
EXCLUSION DEMANDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYAIOUTH, Sunday. Over 300 members of the State Miners' Union, at a special meeting called to consider the question of Italians employed in the State mines, decided almost unanimously that under the existing circumstances all Italians should be suspended from employment and that the Government should be requested to take the neeeseary eteps to deal with them. There are nearly 50 Italians at the State mines, moet of them having been suspended since the Italian declaration of war.
Nineteen of the men concerned were employed on the coal face, and there is likely to be a setback to production through their suspension. A euggestion that they might be employed in another part of the mine was not accepted.
Some of them are married to New Zealand , women, and others concerned are men who have married Italians.
