War's Lighter Side.
On hearing the first air raid learning, an English mother went, out to meet her small son, whom she knew would he sent home from school. She found all the neighbours' children had reached home, hut Jackie uas not loith them. Then she saw him coming along the lane alone. "Where hare you been?'' she aslcd. "Why didn't you coinc straight home with the other children?" "/ took a lille boy home first, he was frightenedwas the reply.
