TE KAHU SOLD. BRILLIANT PERFORMER. SEVERAL AUCKLAND VICTORIES. The fanner Auckland trotter , . Tc Khliu. winner of several raics in the North [slant!, and two at Addinjjton, .has boon sold to a ipatron of P. C. Dunlevy's stable. Te Kii'liu was ,bred by Mr. J. T. Young at To Aw-aniutu, and is by Xelson Bingen from Lottie Aitduibon. who was bred at Tai Tapu by Mr. S. Humphreys. Lottie Audubon was by Great Audu.bon from Silverene, who was by Rothschild from Patience. Lottie Alldulbon was trained at New- Brighton by the late M. Edwards, and showed exceptional speed on the training tracks. She was purchased early in her career iby Mr. Young, but failed to race tip to expectations. On 'being retired to the stud, she produced Lislea. 2.54 2-5, Pegaway, 3.18, Nellotta, 2.50, Te Kahu and Superfine. Te Kahu was educated at Mantrere by J. T. Paul, who developed Great Admiral. Golden Tuiglo. Great Panish, winner of the Auckland Trotting Oup in 1932, and numerous other winners. Dependable Performer. Te Kahu won three races in his first season, and eoon proved that he was one of the most dependable trotters in Auckland. He won several races under all conditions, two of his victories 'being made in heavy ground. He has been successful on more than one occasion in two mile races, 'but since toeing at Addinjrton has not raced to advantage in two mile contests. He has been successful in mile and a half races. A smart beginner, Te Kahu has enough speed to win a sprint race among pacers. His 'beet time for a niilo and a half is 3.20 3-5. In December, 1038, he was purchased by Mr. W. Hosking, and {riven to F. J. Smith to train at Takanini, but after two more starts he was sent to Aldington, where he joined J. Frnser's stable. To Kalliu's last success wae in the Hiirhclass Handicap at the Easter meeting at Addington. In that race, Franz Derby ■beat him by a narrow margin, but Franz Derby -was placed second for galloping, the race being awarded to Te Kahu. BROTHER TO MARSCERES. Warfield, who made short work of his opponents in the Gladstone Trot at Washdyke, is a well-related pacer, and it would not be surprising to find him developing into a really good sort once he acquires a little more lacing experience. He. id a three-year-old full-brother to Maneeeres, Battlefield and Battlevale, being by Ma,n-o-War from Golden Vale, who did comparatively little racing but has proved a rare success at the stud. THE "GREY GHOST'S" DAM. T&e death is reported from America of Aibbacy, the dam of the '"grey ghost" Greyhound. She died foaling to Dick Keynolds, 1.59 1-5, and the foal will be reared by a foster mother. Abbacy was a. chestnut mare, foaled in 1010, a daughter of the former world's champion ilouble-gaited stallion. Te Abbe. 2.10V6 trotting and 2.4 pacing. Her dam. Regal M••Kinney, by Mcjiin-ney. 2.11%, was als> the dame of Edna Early. 2.2, -Tolly Pronto, dam of Pronto Hall, 2.1, Pronto-ivyn, 2.Vs. Regal MeKinney was a full-sister to Royal McMcKinney. 2.llVfe. was also the dam of Scotland.' 1.59%. Highland S.ott. 1.5M4. etc., and to Queenly MeKinney, 2.14',2, dam of Guy MeKinney 4, 1.58%, Dewey MeKinney 2.1%. She traces back to the, prolific matron Jessie Pepper.
