Count Csaky, Foreign Minister, in strong terras, warned Slovakia e gainst persecuting the Hungarian minority of 160,000. "Slovakia should not attempt 'to play off Germany against Hungary, • because Hungary trusts the stability of Hungaro-German friendship," the Note states. "All must recognise that Hungary will act if and when it is advisable and not under provocation. Slovakia must understand that we, shall defend the rights of Hungarians." Slovak diplomats described Count Csak3 r 's warning as nonsense. It is insisted that the Germans would support Slovakia.
