WANTS TO BE FRIENDS.
JAPAN'S GOODWILL TO N.Z. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. "The whole nation of Japan entertains the utmost goodwill toward the Dominion of New Zealand in every sense of the word," said Mr. Toyokichi Fukuma, the newly-appointed ConsulGeneral of Japan. He said the whole nation wanted to cement the cordial and close association which existed between this country and Japan. "It is my honest desire to make good friends among New Zealanders during my stay in the Dominion," said Mr. Fukuma, who will visit the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, and the Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, on Tuesday.
