Gibbs. of the R.X.V.R on his first look round London after arriving in England. He recorded his impression in a letter to his mother. Mrs. A M. Gibbs, of Williamson Avenue, Grey Lynn. "Just the' same as the one in the Domain, it is not the monument hut the people that impress. Kach and e\erv one passing pays homage. Women tace it and nod, men raise their hats men in uniform salute. Down-and-outs xeein to straighten up and pull off their caps.
"It is the most wonderful sight i„ t l le world. It is not put on, but genuine." When the silent hosts of people pav homage at the Auckland Cenotaph tomorrow there will no doubt be manv who will experience similar reactions to those of this Aucklander.
