WORK COMMENDED.
CONTROL OF - FIRES. The superintendent, Mr. W. L. Wilson, and members of his brigade were complimented at the annual meeting this morning of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board by the chairman, Mr. J. J. Kingston, on the satisfactory and efficient manner 111 which fires had been deal* with during the past year.
Mr. Wilson's report revealed that the brigade had attended 1003 calls during the year ended March 3?. last, a decrease of 111 on the preceding year.
