Nine German Vessels Sunk Or Captured. BRITISH SUBMARINES HOME. t'nited Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON. April 23. The British submarines Sea Lion. Snapper and Sunfish, have returned to their base after sinking 3.5.000 to 40,000 tons of enemy shipping, including transports. British losses as a result of enemy action last week were three ships, totalling 11.3.52 tons. There were no neutral losses. German losses include the steamer .Jurgen Fritzen (4-W.5 tons) rcj>orted to have been sunk south of Stockholm possibly by a mine. British warships captured the trawler Rliein, and submarines sank a 3000-ton ship, one of 6000 tons and also another ship acting as a convoy, last Saturday, in addition to four others on Apr l 15. The total German losses are now estimated at 4-50.000 tons. The losses at Narvik are believed to l>e .52,108 tons, including the Jan Wellem. The British total losses of merchantmen amount to 672.778 tons. There are still no transports lost in the Norwegian campaign.
