EQUALITY OF SACRIFICE.
s a grave scandal that Laboqr Ministers while- apj>ealing to New Zai-' landers to do their duty are so pitifully failing in theirs. While the country i* full of young men of the admittedly age for military service, who an indifferent to the call for volunteers, but who would willingly respond to conscription equally applied, the Defence authorities are accepting men who should not he required. My son, who was seriously wounded in " the Great \\ar aiid discharged after eight months iu hospital unfit, lias at the age of 44, and occupied in the dairying industry, lieen accepted for service overseas. Our Ministers should be ashamed of tlicir obvious failure to do their dutv. MOTHER."
