INDIAN AND TEXAN FOR WRESTLING BOUT ON SATURDAY.
The Auckland Wrestling Association's attraction at the Town Hall on Saturday night will he a bout between Chief Little Wolf, the Red Indian who helped to open the season so successfully this week, and Cowboy Dick Raines, the Texan giant who drew with Corbett in the opening contest at Wellington. The matching of Raines and Little Wolf brings the stars among the season's importations together so far as the Auckland public is concerned. Both men have made their names as hard battlers. That Little Wolf will do his share to make the night a memorable one no doubt remains after his clash with Blomtield; the deathlock expert is sure to draw a crowd whenever he appears. Like Little Wolf, Raines has advanced further in his profession since he was in New Zealand two year» ago. He not only did extremely well for himself in Australia and Hawaii, winning the 1938 championship of the .latter country, but also stirred things up considerably when ho arrived back home. Most of his bouts were held in the Middle West where there was plenty of tough opposition to be handled, but Raines made no bones about his treatment of whoever was sent in against him. With his backbreaker hold taking its usual toll, he accounted for Ali Baba (twice), Bronko N'agureki and Joe Savoldi, among the former world champions, and also found j time to draw with Ray Steele and beat l)r. Carl Sarpolis, Hans Kamfer, and a number pf other wrestlers, several of whom have gained prominence in New Zealand. Raines lias his 6ft lin frame in perfect wrestling trim at about 17st and I lie always takes a power of beating no, matter whom he is up against.
