PRESS STORY WRONG.
NO BRITISH FOOD SHORTAGE. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, April 15. Currency lias been given in the Italian Press to a report that, owing to the German invasion of Norway and her occupation of Denmark, there is a grave shortage of food in Britain. It was added that it has become necessary immediately to ration butter, eggs and margarine. The facts are that the butter ration was increased about a fortnight ago to eight ounces a week per person and, as already announced, It was officially stated immediately after Denmark was occupied _ that there was no intention of reducing the ration. Margarine is not rationed and there is no intention of rationing it. Eggs, which at present are cheaper than they have been for seme time past, are not rationed and there is no intention to ration them. Pork has been free of rationing since April 9.
