YOUTH AND GIRL.
ART UNION WINNERS. FIRST PRIZE DIVIDED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, this day. The second art union prize of any considerable size to come to Taiiiape was won by two young people, who held the winning ticket in the latest draw under the name of "White Rajah.'' They are Mr. R, Ilesketh, a carpenter employed by his father, and Miss Bcrnice Baker, formerly of Auckland and now a resident of Taihape. Interviewed this morning, Mr. Hesketh, who recently celebrated his twenty-lirst birthday, stated that the name of "White Rajali" had appealed to them as a good one regardless of tlif fact that a horse of that name had been a winner. The winning ticket was the first takeu by these two young people either individually or jointly and both are overjoyed with their good fortune. There is unbounded excitement in their homes and Mr. Hesketh this morning was much sought after and extremely hard to find. Neither has had time yet to plan the disposal of the money, but the mother of one told a "Star" representative that the money was in good hands. lie ticket was bought in Taihape. The art union results are published on paga 17.
