ATHLETICS.
ELLERSLIE CLUB. LEIGHTON AND OSMOND. GOOD PERFORMERS. A programme of athletic events was I successfully carried out by tl-e Ellerslie Amateur Athletic Club at the local domain on Saturday. Owing to the cycle road racing season having started earlier than had been expected cycle events were not included. During the afternoon 48 medals provided by the club were presented to priae-winners from the primary schools by the Mayoress. Mrs. H. White, who waw Introduced by the president, Mr. J. Wright. The proceeds went to t>be Plunket Society. Tlie most notable performer was B. Leigh ton, who accounted for each of tko three races he started in, namely, the half, one and three miles.
