NEW WOMEN'S CLUB.

In a talk at the Xew Women's Club on "Who Is The Maori?*' the Rev. A. B. Chappell traced the lineage and relationship to the other peoples of tha earth, of the Maori race. The president, Mrs. W. B. Darlow, presided. The speaker paid a high tribute to the Maori race, and in particular to the Maori of old. whose culture was of a very high standard. He expressed tho opinion that the tourist had been allowed to do much to lower this culture in the Maori of to-dav.
