MINISTER OF SHIPPING.

LONDON, March 31

The sudden death occurred yesterday of Sir John Gilniour, Minister of Shipping.

Born in Scotland in 1876, Sir John Gilniour served in both the Boer War and the Great War. He succeeded to the baronetcy in 1920 upon the death of his father. A year later he was made Junior Lord of the Treasury. ■

After holding various Parliamentary positions, -he became Minister of Shipping in October, last year.
