CALCUTTA, March 31
Ten deaths from cholera are reported as a result of the scavengers' strike. Disregarding religious laws forbidding high easte-s to defile themselves by sweeping refuse, the citizens are organising a cleansing service, which it is feared will be inadequate to check the epidemic.
