YACHTING.

ON THE MANUKAU. TWO CLUB RACES. Perfect sailing weather prevailed on the Manukau Harbour on Saturday, when a light but steady sou'-west breeze gave the yachts in the two clubs' events a good testing on nnd off the wind. The Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Club held three events. The handicap race for yachts saw a good contest between tbe crack 18-footers Marie Dawn, AquUa and Mere, with Marere close up. The lighter weather just suited Messrs. Sanies brothers' new boat Aqutln. and, sailing well, she won easily with Marere second and Marie Dawn third. There was a good field of nine In the Z class race Firefly was first home, but the placings were: Skeeta 1, Zippa 2. Unfortunately four of the boats in this class mistook the course and were unplaced. .Louana won the launch race after a duel with Waimea.

The Mauukuu Cruising Club held races on Saturday for their A and B class yachts over the usual No. 1 course. In a J close race Paroro got the gun in the A J class, but the winner*; on handicap wore: ' Marina 1, Eclipse 2, Sirona 3. E The B class was started all together nt J 2.15 p.m. From a very even start off the 5 jetty. Topsy was first away, followed by • Alerte, .Tosette. Karoro, Vigilant, Motare * and Alonia. Karoro, sailing better than • usual, was first home, but the pl.icinjrs 7 were: Aloma 1, Josette 2. Kamro 3. * Motare reported fouling Josette and ' she retired on the first round. 1 The club's final race will be held on J April 13 to French Bay, combined with ■ the Yacht Club. *

KOHIMARAMA CLUB.

OFFICIAL CLOSE OF SEASON,

The official close of the racing season will take place next Saturday under the auspices of the Yacht and Motor' Boat Association. All clubs are taking nart entries closing on Wednesday, details of which are advertised.
