WELCOME RAIN.
<By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. The week-end rainfall at Whangarci totalled 1.38 inches. The rain was the first since February 24, and came at a time when it was greatly needed. Although nothing like drought conditions were prevailing, both pastures and gardens, however, had been at a standstill. Temperatures are cooler.
