I ORELKTS EFFORT. GOOD SEVEN FURLONGS. WORK AT TAXANINI The middle erase provided pood going at Takanini this morning, and although light rain fell throughout, the track w« not affected. Some smart efforta wee recorded by candidates for the Auckland meeting, among those to p lease meet being Orelio. Bronwen, Coi nish, Grandora, Queen City and Airport. Qprnisb (Jackson) defeated Arvaknr (Smith) br a length over six furlonga in 1.14 3-5, after running the first three in 37 1-os. (."ornish worked well and Arr«kur was ridileu out. Ascot Bloom (Logan) finished a length in front of Surnai (Gray) at the conclusion of five furlong in 1.4 1-5, but Siurpai was not extended' over the last two furlongs. Constant Star (McMinn) wae a length in front of Royal Blend (Curwen) at the end <.f five fen> long* in 1.4, King Louis (Beguley) covrriug the same distance in 1.3 3-5. Orelio (ilcTa-vish) and Proud Fox (Smith) jumped off at the seven furlong post, Orelio taking the lead early and finishing live lengths in front iu 1.28 the first three i" 36 3-os ami the first half mile in 49 2-ss, while the last sit furlongs occupied 1.15. Court Favourite (Logan) and The Dozer (Cleaver), fr«a a standing start, ran half a mile in 51 2-i, both working well. High Sea (Jackson) completed a mile in 1.44 4-C>. after running the first half mile in 50 3-as. A veiy emart five furlongs was credited to Grandora (Beguley). who completed tfct distance in 1.0 3-5 after running the firrt two brilliantly in 235. Grandora Bat advanced in favour for his engagements at Ellerslie. Bronwen (McTavish), with the assistance of Veritable (Hatwell) over the lut five furlongs, ran seven in 1.29 3-5, tat last six taking 1.15 and the last five LI 3-5. Brouwen seems to be back to her 4>eet again. Mysito (Smith) finished a length in front of Lovaals (Coleman) at the conclusion of five furlonzs in 1.3 3* Te Kawiti (Cokerl just shaded Game* (Clark) at the onil of six furlongs in 1.16 3-3. Queen City (Burgess) sprinted half a mile in ."j"--. the last three in 375. Hunting Bee (Pell I <!efrato<l Philcourt (Kingi) by three lengths at tke finish of a mile and a quarter, the last mile taking. 1.46 3-5. and the la>t three furlongs 41 3-ss. Airport (Beguley) gave Kiaal (Hatirell) a start, ami wan with him at the finish oi half a mile in 50 l-ss. Both worked veil, particularly Airport. DauWr (Burgess! gave an excellent exhibition over four fences, while Bachelor King (Burgess) pave a fatisfactory display in a similar task. VaaWo (Curweni j-haped well fnr a novice while schooling over four hurdles.
