ROLLS OF HONOUR.
THE SCHOOLS AND WAR. Matters raised by New Zealand's participation in the war came before a meeting of the Auckland School Committee s Association last night. The help which school committees might rwuler in the preparation of roll* of honour for schools wae mentioned bv the secretary, Mr. A. T. Dow. He recalled that difficulties had been met in preparing full and accurate liets after the Great War, and the association was now urging all school committees to do their utmost to further the roll of honour schemes.
A proposal which did not meet with general support wae contained in a remit from the Kemuera School Committee advocating the reintrodwetion into primary schools of a system of military training Members agreed on the desirability of a echeme for physical development, but questioned the wisdom of encouraging a warlike spirit among joung children. e
The remit was referred back to the Ivemuera committee with a request for further consideration.
