NAZI 'PLANES ACTIVE.

Large Fleet Reconnoitres Over

France.

ALARM SOUNDED IN PARIS.

(Received 2 p.m.) PARIS, February 27. It is authoritatively stated that no Potez "63" 'plane was brought down, as the Germans claimed yesterday. There has been more air activity, the chief incidents being German reconnaissance flights. Between 30 and 40 'planes crossed the frontier, then split into groups of five, six or 10, heading in different directions. Alarms were given almost everywhere in north-east France. Two machines approached the Paris area. The shrieking of air raid alarm sirens roused Parisians at 4.30 a.m. to-day, said an earlier message. The "all clear" followed after an hour, during which citizens in pyjamas watched from windows on the boulevards while antiaircraft shells burst in the clear sky. These were criss-crossed by searchlights.

Six persons were injured when an anti-aircraft shell burst during last night's air-raid alarm.
