TEMPERANCE WORK.

AUCKLAND BRANCH. The opening meeting for 1940 of the Auckland branch of the W.C.T.U. was held yesterday*afternoon in the 'board room, YjW.CA. Mrs. Stinipeon presided and; gave an inspiring message for the new year. Sympathy wae expressed to Mre. Taylor, recording secretary, in her illness. The temperance fact wae ' given by Mre. Johnston. Francis Willard Day was observed. A collection wae - taken for the World's Missionary Fund. Meedamee Swan- and Holmes were appointed delegates to the Dominion Convention at Invercargill.
