Twenty-ose-year-old Sooth AostraliuM who are having their first ta«U of coMpaIMTT militarr training, which will last for three montha, are entering •deal cooditiona. Rrrtly, they hari been isajied with khaki shorts *•' part of their working equipment. Tbe«e allow ntore freedom in movement and are cooler. Weedcide camp, where the bulk of the troop* are in training, is an ideal epot. The camp has been modernised with a n;imber of new buildings and a new hospital. bituKen-surfaccd roads have been made, and a civic centre created, but the beautiful countryside, with its tall gum tree* and attractive pasture*, rcmaius in striking contrast. The 21 year-old youths will do 77 daya* compulsory training, this being the first call op lor many years.
