NAZI COAL FOR ITALY.
VESSELS LOAD AT ROTTERDAM LOXDOX, February 21. The Minister of Economic Warfare, Mr. R. H. Cross, was asked in the House of Commons whether lie was aware that 16 Italian ships in the last three weeks had been loading German coal at Rotterdam for shipment to Italy. In reply, Mr. Cross said he was aware of the fact, but naturally these vessels, although liable to search for enemy exports, had not lieen searched since thev had not yet left port. He explained that the (iovernment's intention was to cause as little inconvenience as possible to neutrals. In this particular case. time, which was now drawing to «. close, had been allowed in wi>rii might take place to enable the Italians to obtain coal supplies from alternative sources.
