SUBURBAN SPORTS. J. McMANUS, R. KIRK AND MISS M. GRINDROD. ELLERSLIE STILL IN LEAD. The. fourth sports carnival of • the South Suburban Amateur Athletic council was held at Papakura last evening, and was'one of the most successful yet held. The track was In fine "ofder and Ibme fast times were registered, the Auckland standard times being equalled in three instances. J. McManus in the senior 100 yards registered 10 2-ss, R. Kirk in the junior sprint 10 15-ss, and Miss 75 yards In 8 4-58. After the march past of nearly 200 athletes at the start of the evening Mr. V. Osborne, the Papakura president, welcomed the visitors. Ellerslie again scored the most points for the evening, and this puts them in a good position for the South Suburban Clip. The meeting points were (totals following): Ellerslie, 78 (2831); Papakura, 37 (52); Otahuhu, 27 (185); Papatoetoe, 22 (123); and Manurewa, 18 (.775).
