IN SHELTER.
UNUSUAL MARRIAGE. i France has had ite first marriage in an air raid shelter. The marriage in which the bridegroom was a French officer was taking place in a town hall in the northwest of France",~when suddenly the air raid sirens blared out. German reconnaissance 'planes had been sighted. The Mayor was due to take up his position in control of • passive defence operations in the town hall air raid shelter. He gave orders for the shelter to be equipped with the necessary chairs and papers normally found in the ! marriage office. I Then the officer and his bride were married by him in the shelter. The all ! clear" siren went in time for them not to I be late for the wedding breakfast.
