NATURAL HEATING.
FOR MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS. SUGGESTION AT ROTORUA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. That the utilisation of natural heating from thermal sources had been considered by the finance committee for the beating of municipal 'buildings was mentioned by the Mavor. Mr. T Jackson, at a meeting of the borough council last evening. The finance committee recommended the installation of a low pressure water heating system at a cost of £2000 The system it was stated, was similar to that at the Rotorua High School. The Mayor explained that radiators would be used in the smaller rooms and a hot air system in the concert chamber. The latter would permit partial air-conditioning and circulation of cool air m the summer. The possibility of the utilisation of natural heat had been examined, but it was considered tliat the size of the building was too Teat for it to be efficient. The recommendation was accepted although the council decided to investigate the further possibilitv of u*in» thermal heat. " e An offer by Mr. P. A. Kusabs to sink a bore at his own expense if it was not successful was not accepted, but it is expected that further experiments will be made by the council within the next few days. The Mayor was of the opinion that if the project was worth proceeding with it should be done at the expense of the borough.
