RED CROSS WORK.

NEWMARKET SUB-CEHTRE. INAUGURAL MEETING HELD. The Mayor of Newmarket, Mr. S. Donaldson, presided over a large number of interested supporters of the Bed Cross which met in the Municipal Chambers ye sterday afternoon to near an address given by Mr. Ira. J. Bridger, directorgenerar for New Zealand. In his talk Mr. Bridger spoke of the history of the Red Cross from its early inauguration until the present day. At the conclusion Mr. Donaldson thanked Mr. Biidper for hi* address, and moved that a sub-centre be formed at Newmarket.
