NOT DEAD ISSUE?

LEAGUE OF NATIONS. "MUST BE RE-CREATED." DOMINION UNION OFFICERS. (By Telegraph.—Pi-ess Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A prophecy that by all logical laws a League of Nations must come to life again was made by the Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, during his opening address at the. annual conference of the League of Nations Union of New Zealand. If a League of Nations was to become a live issue after the war, those who believed in it must be fearless in examining the. causes of failure in past years and also must be eager to re-create it. The present failure might result in a new league, based on principles less incompatible. The two principles combined in the League were national sovereignty and collective security and between them a choice must be made. Tho following officers were elected:— Patron, Sir James Allen; president, Mr. T. C. Brash; vice-presidents, Archbishop O'Shea, Bishop Holland, the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson, the Rev. C. J. Tocker, the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, the Hon. W. Nash, tho Hon. P. Fraser, the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, the Hon. A. Hamilton, the Hon. T. Blood worth, Sir Apirana Ngatn. Mr. Justice O'Regan, Mr. F. Milner, Dr. E. N. Merrington, Dr. R. R. D. Milligan, Messrs. H.. P. Kidson, R. M. Laing, A. J. Campbell, L. J. B. Chappie, Mrs. Kenneth Cordon, Professor F. L. W. Wood, Mr. W. M. Page, the Rev. F. J.

Usher, Lady Pomare, Mrs. J. Henderson. Mrs. J. O'Leary, Mr. L. W. Holt-, council. Mr. H. McCormick (president), the Rev. Dr. McKae, the Rev. W. H. P. McKenzie, Lieutenant-Colonel Corrigan, Mr. T. D. H. Hall, Professor Leslie Gibson, Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Mrs. J. Henderson, Mr. A. K. Campbell, Professor P. L. W. Wood, Dr. W. R. B. Oliver, Mr. J. H. Hall; treasurer, Mr. A. D.
