CLAY BIRD SHOOT.

N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY J. McMULLAN. SHOOT-OFF WITH D. P. NORTH The big event of the New Zealand Centennial skeet and clay target tournament, the 50-target clay target championship, was won this morning at the Auckland Club's grounds at Panmurc by J. McMullan, of Morrinsvillc. The conditions .of the contest "were 50 targets, shot on the five-track system, the total prize money being £250. The competitors numbered 26. On the first 20 targets five competitors all shot the possible, and at 30 the number had been reduced to 4, while there were three with* 39 hits. After the fiftieth target McMullan and D. V. North, of Whangarei, had tied with 40 hits. Equal in next place were E. C. Thomasson (Waipukurau) and R. G. Lindsay (Thames).

In the shoot-off between McMullan and North t'lie latter missed on the eleventh target, leaving McMullau the winner.
