RECRUIT FAREWELLED.
PXBIENTATIOH AT "STAR."
Making the seventeenth member of the staff of the "Auckland Star" to leave for active service, Mr. Alistair McL. Taylor was farewelled by fellowemployees yesterday. Mr. Taylor has been attached to the News Room staff for the i<ast 10 years, and the excellence of his work and his kee.nnes« was referred to by the superintendent of the newsroom, Mr. G. Lawson, in making the presentation of a wallet containing a cheque. Expressing admiration of the spirit that actuated those volunteering for service overseas, Mr. Lawson said that 17 members of the "Star" staff had already left for camp or for overseas, ii nd others, who had enlisted, were Hwuiting their calls.
