TROTTING.

HORSES FOR CAMBRIDGE.

trashing at epsok.

Training operations at Alexandra Park 'this morning were of a mild nature, even horses with engagement* at the Cambridge Trotting Club's Centenary meeting on Saturday having their efforts restricted. All the work was done on the dirt trade, and the star performer was the novice pacer Cavalryman (J. Morrison), who showed great dash in short bursts. This five-year-old Nobleman gelding has improved as a result of his racing at the recent fixture at Epsom, and should be difficult to beat at Cambridge, wnere he has two engagements. The trotter Gold Kip (C. M. Morrison) stepped out in good style over a mile and a half in company with Lucky Peter (L. Laver). running the last mile in 2.25. Gold Kip has not long been in work after a spell, but as the fields he will rueet on Saturday are not strong, he should run into the money. W. H. Andrews drove his two pacers, Petite Jewel and Silk Lady, at a leisurely pace over a few rounds, and they will strip in good racing condition. Petite Jewel is pacing in improved style, while Silk Lady is capable of giving a good account of herself in the Captain Cook Handicap. They are to race at Wanganui after the Cambridge meeting. That unlucky novice pacer, Clay Pot, who added still another to her long list of minor placings at her last start, was not hoppled, but the. Jack Potts mare revelled in" her task over two miles. She should 6oon get on the winning list. Others to take exercise were Waikato Prince (E. R. Smith), Dick Redmond (A. Paton), Isabelle Pointer and ..Ringstone. Change of Stables. The four-year-old Nelson Tasker mare Magic Task, who ran into a minor place at the recent meeting at Cl&udelands, after racing prominently at a Matinee at Epeom, was taken over this morning by C. M. Morrison. This reinsman will drive her at Cambridge and prepare her for future engagements.
