TUAKAU CROSSING.

HO FIITAKOXAIt HELP,

(From Our Coirapoatat)

TUAKAU, Wednesday. A statement that there was little hope of the Public Works Department giving financial assistance toward the elimination of the level crossing at Tuakau was contained in a letter replying to recent representations to the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple. received at the January meeting of the Tuakau Town Board. Mr. Semple stated that although a programme of railway crossing elimination had been undertaken upon main and State highways, such work had not yet been extended generally to level crossings on other roads.
