Last Nights Wedding.

PILKINGTON—CALWELL. A pretty wedding took place at the Pitt Street Methodist Church last evening when Miss Louisa Florence Calwell, only daughter of Sub-Imspector D. L. Calwell and Mrs. Calwell, of Auckland, was married to Mr. George Herbert Pilkington, second eon of Mr. and Mrs. J. Pilkington, of Epsorrj. The Rev. E. T. Olds performed the> wedding cere3|ony and the organist was Mr. Albert ryant. A solo, "Panis Angelicus," was sung by Miss Joan Moody. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an attractive gown of off-white French embossed tinsel satin cut on simple but effective lines. The skirt of the frock was cut on the cross in a slim-fitting fashion, and the bodice, which was made with a V-shaped neckline, was shirred to give fullness at the shoulder-line. The tightly fitting sleeves of the bodice were finished with a point over the wrist. At the back of the gown the skirt was fashioned to form a long train, and a second train of the same material was inset at the back to fall in graceful folds to the hemline. With her frock the bride wore a circular finger-tip length veil of off-white tulle held in place with a wreath of white Christmas lilies, and she carried a bouquet of the same flowers. The two bridesmaids. Miss Anne Pilkington (sister of the groom) and Miss Madge Logan, of Kaitaia, were dressed alike in frocks of powder blue broiderie anglaise over powder blue taffetas. The bodices of their goWns were made with large puff sleeves, heartshaped necklines and hiyh, tightly fitting waists. Tho full skirts were circular and were completed with saslieg of bluevelvet. In their hair the bridesmaids wore large bows of blue broiderie «nglaise, and they carried crescentehaped bouquets of peach pink gladioli.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr. John Pilkington (brother) as best man and Mr. W. Haythornthwaites as groomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr. W. Ward, Mr. James Brown and Mr. Trevor Brown. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Domain tea kiosk. Mrs. Calwell received her guests wearing a frock of navy blue selfpatterned phantom sheer made with a three-quarter-length coat of the same material. Her hat was a navy Baku straw, and she carried a bouquet of scarlet roses. Mrs. J. Pilkington, mother of the groom, wore a frock of delphinium blue with a grey eilk anglaise coat and a black hat. Her bouquet was of pink carnations. During the reception items were given by Mrs. W. Ward accompanied by Mr. William Ward, jun. Invited guests included:— Mr. and Mrs. D. C. B.
