"CANADA" VERSUS AUCKLAND
The big event of last ball season was the meeting between the Canadian borne and the rest of Auckland. In the first match the latter team triumphed, but the Canucks had their revenge later, when they ontpltched. outbatted and outfielded the" Rest To-morrow again the Canadians have challenged the best Auckland can put tip and from their line-up they appear to be strong indeed. Allen and Godsmark, the Otahuhn hnrlers. who have been responsible for some remarkable pitching efforts are both in the Canadian side, with Laurie Ijimb, probably the best catcher in the city, to back them up. Bird will head the battery for Auckland, and he can be relied on to give the opposing batters some hot ones to deal with. The fielding and batting strength is good and with Reg White to" coach them they should prove tough opposition to the Canadians.
The early game between Richmond Raoooons and Milne and Choyce should prove interesting, as these two teams look like fighting out the Pacific League title The umpires for the day are Messrs. Woods, Keinble and Inglis.
