PROBATION FOR LABOURER.

THEFT CHARGES ADMITTED.

Five charges of theft of sums of money totalling £7 8/, were admitted in the Police Court to-day by Thomas Lindsay Fitzjohn, labourer, aged 20. Detective W. H. Slater read a signed statement made by the accused in which be said that when employed by the Auckland Laundry Company, between October 4 aaid November 4, he had collected the money from customers and retained it.

Detective-Sergeant McHugh said accused was a single man and had not been in trouble previously. "He is a bit wild and wants pulling up. His parents, I understand, have some difficulty in controlling him," said Mr. McHugh.

Mr. J. Marling admitted accused to probation for one year and ordered him to make restitution of the -amount of. £7 8/.
