Mr. E. W. Turner from Wellington by the Limited express this morning.
Mr. A. H. TTeron will join the staff of the new Horowlienua College, Levin, next year. For 15 years Mr. Heron has been on the staff of Wellington College. The R~--. Hayes Llovd, of the Lower Hutt Baptist Church, has accepted a call to the Hastings Baptist Church, and will take up his new charge at the beginning of March. Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Pierce, Waikato Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the regiment on being seconded for duty with the Special Force, states a "Gazette" notice. Mr. S. J. Irwin has been promoted to senior inspector of primary schools in the Wellington district, and will begin his new duties on March 1. For the past five years he has been senior inspector in S' -'thland.
