Concussion and lacerations to the head were suffered by Mr. L. G. Smith, asred 30, of 144, Carlton Gore Kond. Newmarket, when he was knocked down by a motor car at the corner of SussexStreet and Great North Road about 10.20 o clock last evening. He was taken m a St. John ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, but was able to "'return home after treatment at the casualty ward.
