THEFT CHARGES.

TWO MONTHS FOR LABOURER. TOOK MONEY FROM LETTERS. "This is hardly a case calling for a report from the probation officer." said Mr. J. Morling. S.M.. in the Police Court to-day, when Vincent Edge. a labourer, aped 26, appeared on two charges of theft. Edge pleaded guilty to stealing a total sum of £2 10/ from two letters which it was his duty to post on Julv 31 and August 16. Senior Sergeant # .Tovce said accused was employed at a Public Works camp at Arohcna and used to collect the mail for posting. He had taken the money from two letters. This was his third appearance on a theft charge. "J wo months' imprisonment," said the magistrate.
