ORWERE BRILLIANT.
WYNDORA PLEASES. FOXSEN IN GREAT HEART. TRAINING AT TE BAPA. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HAMILTON, this day. The going was fast at Te Rapa this morning, when the No. 1 grasa track was available for galloping. Several useful trials were recorded, the beet of the morn- ; mg being mx furlongs by Wildore and I Orwere, five by Wyndora and Gasacre, and a half mile by Miss Bridge and Nithmount. Conditions generally were pleasant. Respectful (Watson) and Poland (Long) were associated over six furlongs, the t'urmer doing the better in 1.17%, the last live occupying 1.3%. Respectful, a member of R. Gardiner's string, is making good progress and should be in forward condition for racing at the Waikato meetma. Poland, too, appears to be on the upgrade and it will be interesting to see now he shapes in the Members' Handicap .it Avondale this week. Meadow (McKen/iej was shading Surtoy (Giliner) over the nsciding stages of five furlongs in 1.4%, and Seneta (Long) and Mio Generale (O. ..Iclnally) negotiated a round in 1.58%. . oxsen (Brown) dashed over three fur- ■ >ngs along the back, being timed to run „he last two in 235. She is looking in eut heart for racing ahead. Bronze Step viollop) impressed by the manner in which she was sticking to her work over .lie concluding stages of six furlongs to jeut Acreman (J. Mclnally) by the best j.art of a length in 1.16%. Bronze Step ...vpears to have taken no harm from dicing at Whangarei, where s>he won stylishly in her first up and she should iac-k little on the score of condition at Avondale. An unnamed maiden by The Ace from Flashing Spear ran home from the half-mile post in 50s. The Best Five. The best five of the morning was that of Wyndora (Ensor) and _ Gasacre (Brown), who recorded 1.3 4-5. Both horses were carrying lightweights, but it was nevertheless a commendable effort for liorses of their class. The big gelding Herbage (Acre —Clover Leaf) and Kalletopea (Gollop) were associated over half a mile in 50s, both shaping well for novicas. Miss Bridge (Taylor) pleased by shading Nithmount (McKenzie) over the deciding stages of four furlongs in 49 4-5s —the best of the morning over the distance. Miss Bridge has shown galloping ability in the past, while Nithmount, a half-brother to King Rey, by Surveyor, resembles his relative in general conformation and has the appearance of a useful proposition in due course.
Or were (McKenzie) and Wildore (Gollop), who were brought over to the track by float, provided the feature gallop <u the morning. Jumping off at the six ;'iii longs poet, they ran their first quarter in 25s and clocked 1.14 for the full distance. the final half mile taking 50 l-sa. Wildore, with a big pull in the weights, finished in front, but the showing of f>i were was highly satisfactory, in that it was his first serious gallop since the Cambridge meeting, where lie was rather badly kicked on the leg. Mio Fratollo < Ensor) finished clear of Mia Regina I Hain) at the completion of seven furlongs in 1.30 2-5. The former w making steady improvement and is not without prospects in the Rangitoto Hurdles on the first day at Avondale, especially in the event of rain. He is to have the services of >1. Arniin«den over the weekend. Kingcraft (McKenzie) and Gay Poto iO. Mclnally) ran home from the six furlongs in 1.18 1-5, their final half in 53 1-os. Sir Lysander (Brown), after working round to the three furlongs at strong three-quarter T> ace » came home from there in 33 3-os and Tosh (Watson), who galloped on the plough, ran the last half of his work in 525.
Additional riding engagements for Avondale include H. Long, Poland; N. Watson, Ureklaw; M. Amunsden, M'o Fratollo; C. L. Goulfforo, Inness Lad (second day).
