A farmer living near Taneatua discovered. on rounding up his herd yesterday. that one of his cows had been severely wounded by a. missile, which had passed right through the body (reports the "Star's'', Whakatane correspondent). A closer examination showed that the wound was about three inches
acros>. and the veterinary officer who was summoned ordered the animal, which was in great pain, to be destroyed at once. The wound was apparently caused by a ..'JO.'J bullet of the softnosed. expanding variety. It is thought the animal was shot accidentally.
