ANOTHER POST.

FOR COLONEL N. I>. MACKY.

One of the four officers who was posted to the retired list last year following the issue of a manifesto in which statements of the Minister of Defence were criticised, Colonel N. L. Macky, M.C., was restored to the reserve of officers last week, and has been appointed to command the 21st (Auckland) Battalion of the second echelon of the Special Military Force. He entered camp at Narrow Neck to-day, with the rank of Lieuten-ant-Colonel, to take a refresher course with other officers.

Colonel Macky served with the NewZealand Rifle Battalion throughout the Great War, attaining the rank of captain. After the war he carried 011 with the Territorial Forces, evincing a keen interest in military matters.
